Chosen Solution Is it ok to bake my iMac 20”, EMC 2316 logic board to correct its graphics card issue? I do not recommend baking the whole board. You are just trying to reflow the GPU. If not I would start off by doing that and then clean the dust buildup using a small soft paint brush to scrub the surfaces and then a can of can’ed air blowing way the debris from the case, fans & logic board....

Chosen Solution I have a inspiron 15 3565 with preinstalled windows 10 home 64 bit , due to its slowness and ram shortage. However I dont want to lose my activated windows, because it costs ive heard 100 dollars to get a new copy, so is there any way i can downgrade with my files intact and with it still activated without buying a new version? Probably best not to go 32 bit as it’s only going to be slower and limit the performance of the laptop....

Chosen Solution I was using an off brand iPhone five charger as it was plugged into my Macbook, the casing for the part that was plugged into the phone slipped off and my computer had the message, “your USB device is drawing too much power” that is about as far as I got into reading the message then the computer just shut off. The when I plug the power cable in the LED light on the megsafe adapter is a dim glow, and even the LED’s on the side of the computer that represent the battery charge don’t light up, zero power to the machine....

Just a heads up, it could be a bad port, but a lot of the time when there is a “bad port”, it is not the port itself but actually damage to other locations on the motherboard which are responsible for accessing that port. So you might fix it by replacing the port (if that is even possible), or you might replace the port and find it still doesn’t work....

Chosen Solution Any opinion on soaking the logic board in ISOP? I have a macbook pro that I bought as “parts” and it booted up, but only to external HDD. Upon inspection (checked HDD, HDD flex cable, connection sites, etc), I discovered the entire board was covered in what I’m going to guess is coffee or coke. I’d like to soak the board because simple brushing is not getting it clean… Thoughts?...

Chosen Solution Ouch! Sounds like you got the wrong CPU here. You need an Intel i7-4771 the i7-4790 won’t work as the EFI doesn’t know about it! (newer). The newer ‘Thin Series’ EFI’s seem to have the chip series coded in them as well as the TPD. So you can’t jump up to a newer version of the chip (assuming the chip will fit the socket correctly). The only way to program the converter is by either using the dedicated remote control or obtaining a universal remote control unit which states that it supports your particular model converter.
