Chosen Solution woke up this morning and my phone was dead tried plugging into charger and computer, neither helped. battery dead? At this point I would try to reset the phone by holding both the sleep/wake and Home button together for at least 10 seconds. The red shut down slider may show up at the top of the screen and then disappear again. Just keeping holding the buttons down. Don’t let go of the buttons until the Apple logo shows up....

Chosen Solution I got this Macbook Air for repair and I’m still not a 100% sure if this is the LCD problem or logic board problem. The effect is worse when the display brightness is low (shown in the video) Customer told me there may have been a water damage on the keyboard....

Chosen Solution Hi, New to posting on ifixit, but long time user of the site. I’ve noticed many people are getting boot loop issues at the moment and posting questions but none seem to relate to my issue. I had a few old iPhone 6 screens laying around and decided to test them this evening to see if some could be recycled/upcycled. I tested around 8 screens and all was well, until suddenly I connected one which caused the phone to start boot looping, assuming it was just an issue with this specific screen I put the original screen on that I was using with the phone and expected everything to be back to normal… No joy, I have tried two different batteries and also different screens, with and without the front camera flex connected as I understand this can sometimes cause problems, but its still boot looping....

Chosen Solution So a couple of years ago my ps3 was infected with a virus that corrupted all my saved data and accounts, so i had to delete everything and restart, i was wondering if its possible to bring back my deleted data? you can do a recovery on a hard drive there are plenty of pieces of software you can buy (would have to be done from a pc) however they are not so cheap and you can send a hard drive off for recovery but now your looking at stupid money, when you quick format a hard drive which is what you would have likely done then it would just remove the data labels (the bits that tell the hdd where one peice of data starts and one ends) so when you use it again you write straight over the old data, if you had a full 40gb hdd and formatted it and wrote 20gb data then the first 20gb of the original data would be gone but in theory with the wright software you can recover the second 20, but this does not mean this data is usable and it does not mean it is complete particularly if the data was fragmented (data split across the drive due to things being deleted and new files being bigger so not fitting in the same place) if you wanted to try some free drive recovery software you might get something back but i would really advise against spending to have it recovered because you would likely get something unusable in short you could possibly recover something with enough messing around but it would be unlikely to be much use to you, i have successfully recovered drives in the past but it was immediately after deletion and using paid software...

Chosen Solution I’m replacing the battery from an iphone 6 with a new one from here and I’m also using the adhesive strips from here. I don’t know if anything else is wrong with it besides the battery. If there is, and I have to remove the strips again, would I be able to take them off and use the strips again? The battery adhesive strips are for one-time use only....

Chosen Solution if i upgraded the CPU do you now wot model of a CPU i wood need to yous 4gb of ram or a form to help me Judging from the teardown no. It could be possible but you would have to desolder and solder hundards of solder points.

Chosen Solution Hi, my xbox one s optical drive has an issue. I can not insert discs into it. It tries to push them inside but gets blocked. I disassembled my xbox and removed the metal casing from the optical drive and I found that the center white plastic piece that’s meant to hold the disc once it’s in is actually blocking it from getting inside in the first place. If I remove it then the cd goes in, but of course then the drive is unusable....

Chosen Solution The CD player on my Bose AWR3P has developed a habit of skipping, or hesitating, starting about half-way through a CD. Laser lens has been cleaned, no change to performance. I suspect I need to replace the laser unit, but I’m open to other suggestions as well as what the laser unit is (Sanyo?) and how to replace it. I’ve fixed Playstation and WII laser problems, so I’m reasonably competent…...

Chosen Solution I recently changed my iPhone 5 battery. I thought it went well but ever since changing it my GPS no longer works. When I use a mapping application, it will not update my location but once every minute or so, which makes it useless for turn-by-turn navigation. For an app like Nike+, it says right at the start that my GPS signal is weak. It then works like Maps, Google Maps, Waze, etc....

Chosen Solution just opening the microwave turns it on. @triveni, triveni, Sound like possibly failed switches. This is a unsafe condition and you really should consider unplugging/not using and have a qualified appliance tech. having a look and estimate repair. Microwaves can be very dangerous to work on. Chosen Solution iMac 27" 3.4 GHz i7 (Late 2012) This iMac was my father’s and began having this issue last summer. It will simply power off completely at random - sometimes being able to be powered back on immediately, sometimes not turning on for an hour. This problem persisted for months and grew more frequent until it was happening several times a day. Rather than try to deal with it over long distance, I had him buy a new iMac and took the old one with me to NYC....

Many posts talk about the FL11 being damaged when disconnecting the battery causing issues with Gas Gauge Capability. Unfortunately I don’t have anything else to take photo of the pins with, but from what I could tell it should still be there. I downloaded iBackUpBot to confirm and it shows gas gouge as true as you can see in the screenshot....
