I remember once opening the battery compartment and putting it back in hoping to restart the calculator. pls help the battery was loose it wasnt pushing against the battery connections enough, so i put i tiny amout of fabric in there and now it works

All depends how good you are with micro-soldering It is possible and I know of people that can do it but I wouldn’t call it a permanent fix as can always break again. Would probably be better changing the full thing....

Chosen Solution I am wanting to change my battery. I made sure I followed the first step where we are suppose to type in the terminal so computer does turn on when lid is open. Although each time I do I get this image when I press down on the power button. It will go away after 5 seconds or so. This also happens when I lift up the top where the image reappears....

What you can do is to change the logic board to a faster one. I.ex. you have a A1278 late 2011 and all the logic boards share the same connectors and will fit. Apple has named the unibody pro 13" for model A1278 through several upgrades....

You would need to reengineer the entire logic board so a newer PCH chip could be used that would also force you to upgrade to a i5/i7 CPU and all of systems logic. By the time you did this the cost would be easily 100 or more times than just buying a new system....

Chosen Solution My MacBookPro was recently had its logic board replaced by an official Apple store. The Apple store said it had been fully tested with diagnostics after the repair. Despite this, it started randomly showing blue/pink/white screens. I did SMC/NVRAM reset and clean re-install but nothing fixed it (It actually had the colored screens during the re-install). Then after a few weeks, it suddenly stopped having this blue/pink/white screens issue (although it still occasionally gets black screens)....

Chosen Solution I have a similar issue with a board from an IPOD Classic 6. The brown clip that holds the display ribbon in place is broken. Is it at all possible to replace it with a clasp from another board? What are the other alternatives to such a repair? @krams you can try to replace the clasp from a broken board, but make sure you do this very carefully. The clasp has a tendency of cracking in the middle....

Chosen Solution Simple Answer not possible! The i9 CPU’s use a different socket (high heat) and the systems EFI (BIOS) doesn’t offer the needed firmware support. If you are in the SF Bay Area and have the CPU, I can rebuild the firmware. This is not rocket science. Man made machines should have ways to make them work. Never say no without giving a try.
