Chosen Solution I need a replacement phone screen, but costs are very high for certain phones and much lower for other phones. Could I put on a phone screen from a different model if it is the same screen size? @orangeconcrete thatr would be so awesome if it would work. The answer however is no, you cannot. LCD screens are all typically made for one model only. The electrical connections are different, the flex cables are different and the internal wiring are different....

Chosen Solution If I purchase a 16 GB or larger iPhone 4s mother board will it work in my iPhone 4S with 8GB of memory? You show out of stock for any iPhone 4S boards that work with my carrier (AT&T) will you be getting more or are they gone forever? Herve Gelinas yes you can switch the boards. As for if iFixit gets the AT&T boards back, we the volunteers on this board cannot answer that....

Chosen Solution Hello! I use a wireless USB external mouse with my 2012 MacBook Pro. I’ve seen the mod that allows you to replace the optical drive with a second SSD. But that got me thinking. Is it possible to use a similar mod to have an internal USB port? I couldn’t imagine using my MacBook without the mouse but I find it annoying to always have an adapter hogging up my USB port....

If your really talented at microsoldering anything is possible on a board but the best solution is to replace the logic board If you have to ask, no you can’t fix it. Can someone that knows what they’re doing replace that? yeah, its really not terribly difficult as long as you can manage to not run through it like a tornado with tools while its hot and don’t melt the connector you put on it....

Chosen Solution I want to do the Optical Drive bay replacement and use an SSD 80GB drive. In watching the quick video, I noticed her say that the system would recognize the Optical Drive bay as an external drive. Does this mean that it couldn’t be used as the primary drive? If that is the case, would changing the primary out for an SSD and then opting to install a 750GB 7200RPM drive in the Optical Drive bay slot work?...

But my problem is, as I was doing a normal teardown of the PS4 Pro it required to clean it, due to a bed bugs infestation. I pulled the power supply ribbon straight up to remove it from the port, and the port came with the ribbon. Is there anyway to readhear it to the motherboard safely with the right glue or adhesive?...

Chosen Solution I recently bought an Apple MacBook Air, and stupidly didn’t check to see if there was a firmware password on it or not. The old owner doesn’t know the password. So, I purchased a pre-loaded EFI chip for this specific model (a1466 EMC2632) and followed a tutorial on youtube on how to replace the EFI chip with a heat gun and flux. I did so, and I reassembled the logic board and doubled checked to make sure every cable was plugged in properly....

Chosen Solution So I restarted my MacBook after an OS update like it said to. After a waiting bar upon start up it goes directly to a white screen with a white diagonal circle. I get the same issue after multiple restarts. I haven’t had any issues with my MacBook up until this point. I think it had something to do with this current update. Chosen Solution I am upgrading my HDD on my 2011 Macbook pro, with a 750Gb Toshiba MK7559GSXP I used CCC and SD to clone the drive , the cloning process finish with out any flaws, afterwards I tested the Clone HDD by restarting the computer and pressing the option and booting from the Clone HDD, it work fine, I proceed it to install the HDD on my 13" Macbook pro, I restarted the computer and after 60 seconds all I get is the Flashing folder with the question mark, I remove the HDD and install the old HDD and boots fine....

Chosen Solution I received an early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" from a guy who wasn’t using it any more. It was pretty slow and seemed to have issues, but I can’t remember exactly what the problem was. My dad and I replaced the hdd to a ssd and upgraded the RAM. We got the parts off of OWC (other world computing), because we had had good experiences with them in the past....

Chosen Solution Bought great working washer from a friend. On first cycle after move it showed error code Sud and then F21. Tried running normal cylcle without detergent. Then tried Rinse and Spin several times. Cleaned out drain. Nothing in it except water carefully collected in shallow pan placed under washer. No hose kinks. No loose wires. Chosen Solution I needed to replace the battery for someone’s iPhone 7. I replaced the battery and everything worked fine except the home button. I opened up the phone again to fix it and that’s when one of the ribbon cables tore off. Chosen Solution @jayeff Fix It, friends, I have a 2018 Asus All in One “Zen” that I tore apart to replace the two hard drives and to upgrade the RAM. Unfortunately, two wires disconnected from the motherboard when I flipped the board over to replace the M.2 HD/card. I can’t seem to find where they go on the board - frustrating. Chosen Solution On booting up the laptop in any mode, random white spots appear and cursor moves and opens applications randomly and automatically. Updated bios, but still facing the same issue. This piece of cloth which came along with the notebook has properties of a magnet attracting all kinds of particles. I used to keep this between the keyboard and screen, so all the particles on the cloth which were too small to be seen with the eye used to stick to the touch screen due to which it misbehaved....

Chosen Solution I have been noticing that on my MBA the entire backlite behind the keys will light up, but not the letters on the individual keys themselves. I have the a1370 11" mid 2011, and noticed from other online forums/videos my F5 and F6 keys do not have the ability to adjust any brightness. The only brightness i have are on the F1 and F2. Is this due to the model, and not a feature it comes with?...
