Chosen Solution Closing lid makes laptop unresponsive until all power is cut. I gave my UX303LA to repairs (its out of warranty) to get a broken lid replaced. That all went fine (and the broken WIFI antenna got fixed in the process, too). When it runs it runs perfectly, however: Closing and opening the lid makes the computer completely unresponsive until both AC and battery are disconnected. Unresponsive means: No BIOS, no Post, no power LED response to pressing the power button, no nothing, (except for battery charging LED if plugged into AC)....

Chosen Solution Have a customer with a sm-g920I and I need to get a part overnighted to meet the deadline, but my main suppliers don’t have the “920i” variant of the charge port. Are any of the other variants compatible with the 920i? All because I split the Menu button cable. >.< Button still works, but doesn’t light up. They all use different antenna points. If you want them to work you need to improvise and match the antenna points to how the original charger port is....

Chosen Solution My macbook original problem was a black display but I could still hear the start up chime and I could also see my screen…After few research I figure out that the fuse had to be changed on my Logic board. Changed the fuse and then plugged my LVDS cable in…Unfortunately some of the components blown up and I could see smoke coming out of that location ( see picture with red rectangle) and the fuse as well is gone again…....

When removing th emi shields I chipped a resistor, (labeled C52 on the data sheet) but I just carried on. So, I assembled the phone almost all the way and decided to test it before assembling it fully. So I turned it on, and I smelled something funny. I did some quick troubleshooting, put in the old ram to ensure it was still functional: it was. Ended up putting in one of the original 1gb modules, plus one of the 4gb modules, and it booted just fine, and recognizes the ram as well....

Check out this teardown guide. It looks like steel to me. The spot welds along the edge of the studs are bluish which is what steel would look like. In addition the thinness of the metal given the needed strength would imply steel as well....

If I totally power the laptop down (not sleep, total shutdown) and leave it sitting for about a week with the battery in it, the battery drains down to about 10%. If I take the battery out for a week, the battery is at a full charge when I put it back in the laptop....

Me not knowing during that time, removed the glue only to realize it was wrong. I then proceeded to lift up the frame and got to the part where the battery was on. I’ve replaced a few screens on both models and I would not risk it to try a different model screen on either....

So just to detail them, on the donor iPhone: The shell looks great and it was about 1 month old when it was dropped in water and got damaged....
Chosen Solution One of two batteries is swollen. It can explode. I do not have time to buy and replace the battery. Is it possible to unsolder one battery and use only one of them? This is a minute work. I’m afraid not to break the tablet. Maybe the charging controller is not designed for one battery… That’s a good question and I’m certain there’s a lot of experimenting that can be done here....
