Chosen Solution I have a Dell Inspiron 700 m with Windows XP which is running well. However, as Windows XP is no longer supported I am afraid to connect it to the internet. Is there anyway to upgrade this computer so I can run a more current version of Windows which would allow me to add anti virus software to safely connect to the intranet? Chosen Solution When I finish upgrading my 2011 I will have the ram that originally came in it. Can I use it on my even older mac book? Is that a good or bad idea? Using a 2011 RAM on a 2010 Macbook should be possible, they have the same size and need same voltages. Specifications though are different as the 2011 Pros use a faster memory. Macs are a bit picky with RAM sometimes, you’ll have a definitive answer only by trying....

Chosen Solution I have a iPhone 6plus that was driven over, completely destroyed! There is no throwing a new screen on it. However the internal components seem mostly intact. Can the memory be put into a dummy phone to recover pictures? joey, not unless you try your logic board out in a new case. You are of course going to run into numerous issues including your touch ID fingerprint scanner unless you can salvage the original button....

Check that the pins are all there (should be 5) and that they are straight and parallel with each other....

Chosen Solution I have all the keycaps intact, but the small plastic mechanism thing on the T key is busted. Context: I spilt water on it , and I couldn’t find out how to get the water out of there effectively. So i just removed the keycaps and now I can’t put them back. The method I used to remove the keycaps was stupidly crude. I used a earwax scoop as a lever to forcefully pull the keycaps out of their sockets ....

Chosen Solution Charging port has broken Kindle is not charging with any charger Hi @upm13 , Here is a link to the ifixit repair guide of the Kindle Fire HDX 7". At Step.5 in the teardown there is access to the charge port flex cable so that it can be replaced. Here is a link to the charge port replacement part that is available from ifixit. Chosen Solution Well, I have an iMac 20’’ ( ver. 7,1 - Late 2007 ). My CPU is a T7300 @ 2.0GHz. Can I upgrade the processor to C2D Extreme X7900 @ 2.8GHz ? Update It’s all ok! :-) I work with iMac 8 hours per day and don’t have any problem! It’s totally recomended to change the CPU ! I install Lion and works perfectly. Yes! I was able to swap out the processor on my T7300 20" mid 2007 imac to an X7900 by following the instructions for replacing the heatsink here: iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210 Heat Sink Replacement When the heatsink is removed, the CPU is exposed....

Chosen Solution The USB port is damaged. I was able to plug it in after messing with it. It started to charge but I unplugged it and then back in. Now nothing happens and it will not turn on. The model number is CE0168, 16GB. Take it to a reputable phone repair shop to get the charging port replaced.

Chosen Solution Hi, so I tried replacing the digitizer and some of the usual issues occurred along with some that are quite rare : 1 ~ The old problem of power button not working if applying a short press while it still works if you press longer in order to power on/off the iPad. 2~Apps wiggle when you touch and hold ,the delete bubble is there but then you can’t delete the app nor install it using the IPad,but it still works if you install via iTunes,it bothers in case you are interested in apps directly through Safari ....

Chosen Solution Hello iFixit. I replaced my screen on my Macbook Pro, and when i set the new screen in and power on, I hear the startup sound, but just black screen. When I try to close the lit, 2cm from totally closed it turns on, and then works fine. Chosen Solution I wanna trade batteries to my 6s plus and how do I bend back the 6s plus back chassis /body case Unfortunately none of the iPhone batteries are compatible with each other. Sure you can swap batteries between 2 of the same device, but the connectors are device between each model iPhone, meaning a 7+ or 8+ battery wouldn’t connect, not that it could even fit in the phone in the first place....
