Chosen Solution Is the MBP 13” Retina w/Touchbar battery the same as in the same MBP but from mid 2018? If not, does anyone know where to get a replacement battery for the latter device? I’m surprised you need a new battery for this system already. Can you tell us a bit more on why you need it. Maybe we can offer a cheaper and easier solution. Chosen Solution This weekend I replaced the battery in my MacBook Pro with a new ifixit battery. The MacBook had worked fine until recently, when it suddenly stated that the battery was not charging and needed replacing. Following on from this, it ran exceptionally slowly and would not boot at all at times. I have replaced with a new battery, and it now turns on just fine (after an OS re-install), but is still saying that the battery is not charging....

Chosen Solution Have a model 31C 707 type 0603 E1 that has broken 2 aluminum push rods. Why is one push rod steel and one aluminum? Can you replace the aluminum one with a steel one? And what is the proper valve setting ? @mowerdumb not sure why this is done and not sure what you see (push rod vs. valve tappet?). It’s best to not replace the aluminum one with a steel one....

I have a sony bravia kd55x750f and everything is working fine but the lcd is smashed. I wanted to fix it but a replacement lcd is worth much more then I’m interested in paying for it and has proven difficult to find. when dismantling it I found that it has two 64 pin ribbon cables that connect to the lcd assembly....

Chosen Solution Hi, Newbie here, just on my third iPhone repair (microsoldering) and wanted to get your feedback before I take off the PMIC and replace it. I have a water damaged phone here, upon first inspection and after cleaning it didn’t look so bad, but it was dead as a doornail. AMmeter does show 0.5a when I plug the logic board in (new battery, new dock connector, new screen). No sound/image though and the PMIC gets hot real fast....

No. Either take it in with your original receipt to Apple or hold the gun on the guy you got it from until you get the number. short answer is no. long answer is there are some shady business practices that try and get around it but the only thing I’ve seen that “worked” is replacing the logic board which is essentially replacing the whole device which makes 0 sense and isn’t worth doing....

Chosen Solution I ordered the camera off ebay. It doesn’t seem to snap back into place. I tried reinstalling the old camera and it seems to work. The new camera is just a little off.. Are all the cameras on ebay pretty much the same (just different sellers)? I tried to pick a seller that sold a lot of them. I don’t think I’m doing anything on my part. I could try holding it in place and screwing it down with the plate, but I don’t want to force it in there....

Chosen Solution Fan plug broke off motherboard If it was a better picture I could tell you for sure, but yes it looks like a simple re-solder job. For that you’ll need a soldering iron and maybe some solder.

Chosen Solution ……………………………………………………….. Should be able to as long as the wire is viable on both sides of the break. Solder and heat shrink wrap should do the trick. How to Use Heat Shrink Tubing As long as the wires are visible, you can resolder them. Just make sure to put some heatshrink tubing on before! Good luck!

Chosen Solution I have these Croma Earphones with Mic (EA7290 EM881J, Black) ear phones they have stopped working and I think its a simple case of disconnected wires that need to be sodered back .However I cannot find a way to open these earphones they apper to be factory sealed however there may be a techinique i am unaware of that could aid me in opening these earphones here are a few images of the earphones....

Chosen Solution 3 questions. On the Apple refurbished site for Imac’s . I am a bit confused. If you look at models for sale, there is a notation, the model was ‘first released in 2015’. What does that mean. Does that mean it is a 2017 model but first released in 2015 and therefore as per the latest ifixit teardown it can be upgraded. I would hate to buy one and later find out a 2015 model and not upgradeable....
