Chosen Solution Hi everyone, got a water damaged phone on my hands! Any advice would be awesome! The top backlight still works - as a matter of fact I’m typing this on it! Problem is the main bottom backlight isn’t functioning, so it’s impossible to use in day light. When the phone was submerged it was powered off. I cleaned the main board with isopropyl, but obviously there was quite a large amount of water underneath the screen that never seemed to dissipate until two weeks....

Chosen Solution My battery display on my iPhone 5 says 12%. When I plug in my charger, it says my battery is at 67%. Why the discrepancy? It’s a faulty battery. OP get it replaced. If you are running IOS 10 this is a common problem especially on the newer phones. Even if you are not running IOS 10 you can still give this a shot. I have done this little trick multiple times on my own phones and it has saved me a battery change more than once....

Chosen Solution Hi everyone, I recently replaced the battery of my iPhone SE and the headphone jack stopped working. When I am playing music from Spotify/Youtube and plug in my earphones the music continues playing on the speakers and there is no sound through the earphones. I did the following troubleshooting: Cleaned out the headphone jack (with compressed air, a piece of cotton and a little bit of rubbing alcohol)Tried different earphones (double checked and made sure they worked on a iPhone SE and iPhone 6+)Made a backup and did a reset to factory settingsReinstalled iOS via iTunesReplaced the lightning connector assembly, including headphone jack and microphone with a working oneOrdered a new battery and installed it in a different (working) iPhone SE, in case it had anything to do with the logic board of my iPhone—now I have 2 iPhones with a non functioning headphone jack So, I tried all the above and nothing works....

Chosen Solution Hi, I’m facing an issue with the keys T, G and V that doesn’t respond on the iPhone 6 keyboard. Mention that I was searching all the forums and follow all the recommendations, but i still have this issue. Chosen Solution I took apart a Sharp EL-1197P calculator and cleaned contacts with 91% isopropyl alcohol. When I reassembled it and plugged it back in the power switch was set to off but still turned on. I flipped it back and forth still nothing. Please help! you could possibly have a short in the switch, or on another part of the circuit that relates to the power supply. take a multimeter across the leads of the switch to see if you are getting continuity in the off position....

Chosen Solution I replaced the cam sensor on my 2000 GMC Safari and now I can’t get rid of the check engine light. It used to be just intermittent. The code I am getting is “Cam Sensor Bank 2 Circuit Malfunction”. Can someone tell me what that means? Chosen Solution I have a Western Digital MyBook external hard drive that recently quit connecting. This is a NAS device, so direct connection to the hard drive does not work, however, the HD itself is still working and files are intact. The problem is that the Western Digital drives are encrypted, so the only way I can see to recover my data from the hard drive is to find a new PCB with the same numbers and connect it to the hard drive so it can connect to the network and transfer the files....

Chosen Solution I sat on my phone in my back pocket and the aluminum case is slightly bent around where the volume buttons are. Can I take it apart and reinstall everything in a new case? The screen is ok, the battery still lasts long and everything works fine, the phone is just crooked. You can probably find a 2nd hand body on ebay with some patience. Try to go for an original one that’s being sold for spares, thus you’ll have to shift only your logic board from one to the other....

Chosen Solution Before I consider to buy a new iMac I want to ask if I can replace the Core i5 with a Core i7 CPU? The CPU is is socketed and is technically possible, but it’s also attached in a fasion that makes it nearly impossible to remove it without damaging the socket or the rest of the logic baord. I’m certain that others will try and tell you that they can replace it, but i don’t recommend it myself....

Chosen Solution My girlfriend’s notebook pc only has 1Gb RAM and runs really slowly. I was wondering if a RAM upgrade is as straight forward as my Macbook was? Any pointers? Update Well, i just found out that this model is the 1015cx, without the RAM slot. And apparently only has one card. It comes with 1Gb RAM and sholud be upgradable to 2gb. It would take quite a load of work to first find the correct speakers with similar dimensions and then dismantle the iphone and replace it and making sure that it works! You’re better off just using external speakers or a dock!...

Chosen Solution I have an old MacBook Pro (3,1), 17", with the 1680x1050 internal display (A1229). I was wondering if I could replace it with an 1920x1200 display. I am not sure if Apple have made some deliberate action to make such upgrade impossible. No guesses please, I cannot afford buying a display that I cannot use. I can see an answer for a1212, but mine isn’t that type, so I’m hoping for a different answer....

Thanks Martin @tarak the bleeding screen is most likely caused by a bad display. the only way to repair that would be by completely replacing it. The difficulty will be finding the right display. You may need to rely on places like ebay and see if you can scrounge a good used one....
