Chosen Solution Started to smoke and melt while charging. Now when I plug in charger it doesn’t show it is charging on the power button. Assume it isn’t charging but haven’t run battery all the way out yet. @smu89 if it truly melted you are having some major issues with it. Unlikely that it would charge nor would I try. Disassemble it by using this guide and see what damage you find....
Chosen Solution Hello, my tablet model is GTP5210ZWAXEF and uses a micro-USB on the tablet side. One of the 5 pins was bent and I bent it back in place to wait for a better repair. I have bought a replacement USB port with its ribbon cable, but can’t remove the old port. Ribbon end comes out OK but this port seems to be factory-glued on a metal part on the USB port side....
Chosen Solution I did a chassis swap as i fell and smashed back and bent top right corner this is first time fixed my own phone instead of paying apple £600 If you didn’t transfer the battery with the logic board you will receive this warning as the battery is married to the logic board. It will not harm the performance of the phone it is just another way for apple to make more money as they want you to use there battery replacement service....
Chosen Solution My old xt has only a color card and a mono card. I have no monitor. I have a vga monitor and an old at computer with a vga monitor and card. the vga card is not compatible with the xt computer. silly question, could I run both computers and simply disconnect the rgb wires from the working at computer and connect only the rgb wires from the xt color card....
Chosen Solution When I connect my home button cable to the logic board my screen slowly turns black and will not work unless I disconnect the cable You need to disconnect all of the flex cables coming from your screen and visually inspect the FPC connectors on the logic board and on the screen assembly. Preferably, use a magnifying glass or jeweler’s loupe. If everything looks okay, re-connect them but be careful as they are very delicate....
Chosen Solution I have repaired many iPhone 6s/7 and I always bought the displays on eBay for 30/50 bucks and they all have touch issues happening about three times a day, to have the touch working I need to restart them. I am wondering if iFixit display have this problem or the work just as apple ones. Their parts are ok, however I have had an issue with their 7 screens not fitting properly due to the IC on the back of the screen attached to the flex....
Chosen Solution Auto lock is on won’t start Kenmore Elite HE4 Dryer @burza you are not giving us a lot to work with. Try unplugging the dryer for five minutes to allow it to reset. If that does not work hold the “Drain/Spin” buttonAND the main “Start (Press & Hold)” button at the same time for 3 seconds. Some models you will have to hold the “Auto Dry Level” button for 3 seconds or longer until the “Control Locked” light goes off....
Chosen Solution replaced battery on ipad 4, though I rehooked everything up correctly. now the autorotate feature doesn’t work anymore. Did I mis something internally or damage something internally during fix? Checked slider button next to volume controls and the general setting tab for what the slider button does when locked The connector that has connections to the gyroscope is right next to the LCD connector. It is possible that you accidentally damaged the connector or flex or some of the tiny components on the logic board in that area when you repaired the device....
Chosen Solution My 10yr old dropped my Mac and now the screen is not lighting up. When I put an external light to the screen I can see the operating system faintly and I can navigate - barely. At the moment I have my laptop hooked up to a DVI cord to another monitor and it is working fine. BUT….It would be lovely to have my laptop back to its normal state....
Chosen Solution Hi Everyone, Ok so my mid 2014 13” retina macbook pro had that crazy screen issue and then crashed, now the dreaded 3 beeps. The very strange thing is when it first crashed I tried to reboot it, which it did, then crashed pretty much immediately with a weird screen. I think it rebooted one more time and crashed even quicker. Then when I tried to reboot it would give me either one beep OR it would make a chime but no screen action....
Chosen Solution The cap of the battery casing of my MinoltaDiMageZ1 camera cannot lock close - the pin that locks the cap broke off. I am keeping it closed with masking tape, but that doesn’t hold long and I have to keep changing it. Broken battery door latches appear to be a common problem on the Dimage Z1. I did a search for spare parts on this model and the battery door came out at the top of the list....
Chosen Solution I took apart my iPhone 5c and the pull tabs broke so went in with tools and the black foil tore. The iPhone is still apart and be that way for 2 days and today I come back to see the battery with pink liquid beside the black foil. The iPhone is going on display and I hope to keep it apart but is the battery safe to keep (not use) in a glass box....

Chosen Solution Hi everybody! I have replaced LCD in my iPad Mini 4 (A1538). Everything was ok for circa 30 min. Suddenly, unit made some beepy noise and screen went black. I was trying few different screens (including original one) but same symptoms: no picture. iTunes is recognizig it after connecting, so I’m guessing that is backlight related issue (battery was disconnected during replacement). I have found a lot of information how to fix such malfunction (replacing fuse, filter, making a jumper) but nothing directly related to that model....

Chosen Solution No picture but still there is sound James t.j start by taking a look at the screen with the TV on in a dark room. If you see a faint glow on the display than you know that your beacklight is on. In that case my first suspect to replace would be the T-con board. If the backlight does not come on, then I suspect the power board. Unplug your TV and remove the back....
Chosen Solution Hi, I forgot to press the battery disconnect button prior to swapping the trackpad cable in a 2016 A1534. I noticed a little spark/sizzle/smoke come from the logic board sizzle as I was closing up the Macbook. Needless to say the keyboard and trackpad are no longer working. I took a close look at the logic board under a microscope and I found nothing but a nice big solder ball sitting between the pads of L4803 ....

Chosen Solution My screen was busted so I borrowed a 5s screen from another phone and plugged in the flex cable. The sensor didn’t work as expected. When I got a new lcd assembly and moved my original button / flex cable to it, the phone wouldn’t recognize the sensor. Could it be because I plugged in a different home button to use while waiting for the new screen? I ask, because now the phone I borrowed the screen from won’t recognize its own home button which was never removed from it’s screen....
