Chosen Solution I turned on my computer the other day and the screen wouldn’t power up. I can hear the fan running and it makes the noise like it is turning on but nothing on the screen. I plugged it into an external monitor and the screen displays on it. If I shine a light into the laptop screen I can faintly see the images. My tech guy said it was the motherboard and would cost $600 to replace it....
Chosen Solution The cable that comes out of the back of my Apple Thunderbolt Display was fraying. I decided that rather than risk a short at some point, I’d preemptively replace the cable. Upon iFixit teardown photos, I decided to replace the cable that comes out of the back of the screen myself instead of paying nearly $200 to get an Apple Service Provider to do it here in Bangkok. If it’s a GHD then spares are certainly available - just google for them - but other brands not necessarily. But you might still be able to fit a new chord if you’re up for a bit of soldering and assuming there’s no internal damage.

Chosen Solution Hello all. I’m trying to help a friend with a Surface 2. Originally the issue he was having was that it would not power on even when plugged in. For some reason that started working fine and he was able to use it. It had sat idle for some time so he decided to catch up on Windows updates of which there were a fair amount. In the morning when he turned the Surface on he gets the Surface logo, then the spinning circle as if it’s about to load but what he ends up with is a black screen....

I try use the Install CD/DVD that came with my system to boot up , I got same result some time it boot up, some time can’t boot up. please help me and let me know why? Chosen Solution I recently replaced my screen, Ipad 6. I accidently scraped off a vital piece for the home button to connect. Did I just destroy my device?? The pads look to be in good condition so replacing the Home Button connector is a straightforward repair for an experienced micros-soldering technician. As for repair, look locally for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs. Ideally, you want to find someone local but good workmanship trumps locality....

Many thanks, Patrick You really need to stick with two 8GB SO-DIMM’s (total of 16 GB) with your current 8 GB that will get you 24GB of total RAM! Your system has four RAM slots so you’ll not have any issues fitting them....
Chosen Solution Like the title says is there a way to switch the stock drive with an SSD. @ethanquincy There should be no reason why not, however the question here would be more how to do it than whether you can (finding the correct guide or adventuring yourself) I’ve asked the author of this post if he could add a full view of the back of the machine, without the cover blocking the parts, to see if the HD is easily accessible....

Chosen Solution Long story short, no. Im referring to the blob of solder under the left wire of the AC power cord. That blob has both the AC cord and the fuse lead in it. I believe this is the reason my PS4 stoped working. I woke up to it this morning trying to turn it on but it didn’t. I opened it up to see what looked liked a few mutated crickets in it....
Chosen Solution We recently moved into our home and the Asko dishwasher too rack seems to have stopped working. The bottom rack is washing fine. All the filters are clean. The thing that spins on the top rack doesn’t seem clogged. The pipe that carries the water to the top rack seems clear. I poured some water in and blew in it. The settings seem right. It has modes where you can just wash the bottom rack but it is turned off....
