Margaret Boshart it is soldered to the motherboard. You will have to remove that like this guide shows you. Then desolder the old port. A new port may be hard to source. You can either buy an old phone that is no longer working at places like ebay....
Chosen Solution Yay, I scored this 17" baby. It had been spilled upon, frying the keyboard, but operational; with remote keyboard. But very sluggish. Currently running, or better, dragging El Capitan. I am about to replace the keyboard (been there ,done that successfully before on other MBPs) Also would like to perhaps clean, (q-tip dap) the logic board stick sections, perhaps with alcohol. Chosen Solution I have a Samsung CLP-510 printer. I can ask it to print a demo page, and it comes out fine. Sending a file from the computer gets a “Wasting Data” message, the On Line light blinks and no page is printed. Then went to restart it last night and it would chime and turn off right away, happened a few times until I held the power button down until Apple logo came up. When booted, connected charger but it would detect the battery and not charge. I had 32% battery power. I switched it off and opened it and found a burned chip. The computer still works (I haven’t dared using the firewire port) and wondering it it’s fixable maybe replacing the component. Chosen Solution can i replace/repair CF pin assembly (bent pins) on Nikon D70 myself? The smallest I’ve dealt with is VGA ports and IDE hard drive connectors, but this should be fixable, depending on the severity of the damage. If the pin is bent at the base, but is otherwise undamaged, it should be a relatively simple task to just straighten it out. Since the pins are far too close together to use most needle-nose pliers (even the small ones sold here), I suggest a very small flat-tip screwdriver (glasses-repair style)....
Chosen Solution My iphone X (or Xr i forgot if its an X or Xr) screen was shattered. It only showed a green screen, so I took it to a screen repair shop to fix it. And they fixed the screen great however, they said that they can’t fix the unresponsiveness of the screen. The LED screen will light up and I can see my wallpaper on my lock screen, but the screen is not responsive at all so I can’t type in my password....

Apple is charging over $650 and I found a local shop that will do it for half that price - they claim they will do it in front of me and it will only take 30min. Chosen Solution My MacBook Pro started smoking when plugged into the charger. The smoke was coming from the back, about 1.5 inches from the power connector on the bottom of the logic board. It looks like the brown component in the photo has exploded (right end black and charred). So what is that - a capacitor? what spec? Chosen Solution I don’t know how strict the T2 chip is in this regard.. There is no difference between the 2018 and 2019 models display assembly. You can’t use the older 2016/2017 displays as they don’t support TrueTone. I do strongly recommend you contact Apple if your system is still under warranty (in the EU its two years!) and if not hopefully you have AppleCare+ service contract as the part is not cheap!...

You should be able to cheat the iPhone and it is too complicated....
