Chosen Solution I have a 17" 1.33 PowerBook. I have no problems charging or booting, or running, but whenever I unplug the charger the computer will turn off. Or, if I boot when unplugged, and then plug in the charger, the computer will also turn off. It always happens just as the charger is about to disconnect (about 1/4 of the way inserted). With the computer off and the top-case removed, if I insert the charger plug 1/4 way into the DC-in board the PRAM battery makes a soft, high-pitched noise....

Chosen Solution Hi Guys, I’ve been given an iPad Air with charging issues. Having opened it up, it’s clear that someone has already tried to attempt a fix and managed to damage pads in the process (Where the Dock and Speaker ribbon connects to the Logic Board). Let me know if you think it’s worth trying to fix. I’m hoping a fine wire bridge might be possible. Any advice on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated....

This could be caused by a faulty backlight power supply from the motherboard (very unusual), a faulty LVDS cable (or cable connection, either end - motherboard or display) from the motherboard to the display or a faulty display....

Chosen Solution I need to replace the battery in my iPhone 5s. I have got as far as the battery adhesive strips and they have torn while trying to get them off. both strips have retracted to underneath the battery. Should I make sure the battery is dead before removing? it could prevent an explosion… iPhone 5S stripes are difficult to remove and it would be a very good idea to always drain battery before working on it, it doesn’t take much to damage battery and get into unpleasant side effects....

We can give you our opinion all day long but if it does not work for you and your skills it is not helpful. Get the one that catches “your eye” and work with it. Yes, for your repair a simple hot air gun and a thermometer might just be sufficient....

Chosen Solution Would a distro of Ubuntu or Linux be the best to run on this device? Well, you might be able to get away with just using Windows 7 or a distro of Linux/Ubuntu. I’d recommend an older Linux/Ubuntu version to run though.

Chosen Solution I did follow the guide to replace my iPhone 7 back case. Everything went smooth, I’m 100% sure I didn’t mess with screws (everything was tagged and I also made photos after every step), but before final reassembly I decided to check if my phone works only to find out it doesn’t boot. Apple logo appears for 15 seconds, then phone switches off and on. 15 seconds later everything repeats, and phone never finish the boot....

I went the the Internet recovery way and that show me High Sierra in the utility. Now, after what seemed like a good install, the computer restarted; apple logo shows up, progress bar fills about an ⅛ of the way then it reboots again, doing it over and over....

Chosen Solution a customer came in with iphone 7 that wasnt charging. tried new battery and charge port, wasnt charging. so with the battery disconnected i plugged in charger and no apple logo. confirmed tristar was at fault, and proceeded to replace it with 1610a3b (the exact tristar model of iphone 7) after the replacement the phone was charging but only while it was powered down. so i though maby it was a bad chip placement and proceeded to remove and reball the chip i just put on....

Chosen Solution Got two faulty parts: Fuse and Resistor?? I have found the fuse (0402-HF SMD fuse) but not sure if the other is a resistor or what. Any ideas? Chosen Solution I have looked everywhere for the tiny clip which sits under the screw which holds the back of the camera (and possible grounds the camera as well) Is it necessary? and what is it called? do you sell them? The camera retaining clip is not a necessary component. The camera snaps firmly and solidly into the back case lens holding apparatus. No additional anchoring is necessary. Consider yourself very lucky, because most parts within an iPhone are needed for proper function, but not this screw or clamp....

Chosen Solution My bluetooth card has apparently failed. Control panel in system prefs does not show for bluetooth and the system report states no info on bluetooth. I’m assuming some sort of failure. Sudden failure is rare. Was this machine involved in a spill or a drop? Yes the card can be replaced it is under the clutch cover. The innards are all soldered into the gameboy cartridge board. The memory chip is the black box on the right of the chip. Its also unlikely that you would find a chip replacement unless you can desolder it from another identical cartridge then solder that into the board of that cartridge....
