Chosen Solution Can the backlight cable on a MBA be plugged in backwards? Only one side has the pins exposed. I have a situation where I am trouble shooting a screen replacement I did. When I pulled the backlight cable from the old screen I screwed up and separated the side that has the black tab and adhesive on it. From what I can tell this has no connections and is only a piece of cable material that sticks to the side with no connectivity and makes it thicker so when you press the ZIF socket connector down it presses the leads and makes contact....

It is going to be a PITA, you have to shovel the battery off the case, which is difficult and potentially dangerous. yes anything that has a battery can have the battery changed. if the battery is not the type that you can just take off externally ( like a lot of apple products in your case i am assuming that you have a mac since it is in your title) you have to actually open up the device and find the battery in order to replace it with a similar battery....

Chosen Solution Hi there, I have a water damaged iPhone 5s for repair. The phone is totally dead. After opened it, I found corrosions around U3 display chip. I removed the U3 chip, and found the pads under the chip are quite bad. I cleaned them, then soldered a new U3 chip. Most times you just need to rinse the Hepa filter under the tap rather than replace it. the only time I ever replaced mine was when I vacuumed up a load of plaster dust and it set fast in the filter when I tried to rinse it. oops!...

Chosen Solution I had repaired the charging port on my iPhone 6 after it had been damaged along with the screen. Everything worked perfectly for about 2 months, but then randomly stopped charging the battery even when it said it was charging. Is this a battery issue? The battery had been dying very quickly for awhile now. Unfortunately trying to replace battery, after you replaced the lightning port, is the only attempt left on a DIY basis to see if the issue gets solved, but from your description there might also be a good chance there’s a logic board problem....

Battery was charging and operating just fine but over the last couple of days the battery now refuses to take a charge. I’ve tried 2 different chargers and reset the SMC, but no change. Chosen Solution Changed battery a while back and it would not charge. Changed mag safe twice. Got wrong one the first time. LED never goes amber always green. MAC will work unless it’s running something demanding any kind of additional power. Laptop will then shut down. Not sure if I got a bad battery. Chosen Solution So I pay an authorized Apple repair man to replace my battery from iFixit for a mid-2012 MacBookAir. We install it, power up the laptop and the first thing the laptop says is we have a bad battery. To confirm, every time we pull the power plug, the laptop immediately shuts down. Check the system report overview and it too says to replace the battery (remember, this is a new battery)....

While de-soldering the old battery I accidentally pulled off the first solder pad on the battery connector. So my question is how to I go about fixing this. I have already replaced the HDD with an SSD and upgraded ram to 24gb so there is little room for improvement there. Chosen Solution Hi, I’m repairing an iPod 3rd Gen that came to me with a broken screen. The touch aspect didn’t work. After replacing the screen/digitizer, the touch aspect still doesn’t work. I’ve double and triple-checked the cable and am pretty sure I have it in right. I have also tried hard resetting, restoring, multiple times. Any help? Thanks in advance. The iPod touch (any generation) can connect to the internet only through wi-fi. I am not sure if a jailbroken iPod touch can connect through bluetooth or the dock connector on the bottom....
