Chosen Solution After restarting for installing the latest HighSierra security update my nightmare started!! The MBP don’t boot up correctly anymore, i tried all possible combinations, smc, nvram reset, a boot from a usb stick but same result: when i switch it on , i can see vertical pink stripes on display and after the status bar increase the display become grey. I then opened the back plane for a check to verify the status and suddenly one of the 8GB memory banks (the one on the upperslot) failed and caused the three beeps at startup then i removed it but same behavior!...

Chosen Solution Hi, I have the same problem. I wonder if I can change the USB port? Does anyone have any suggestions? Aneta, yes you can:-) Disassemble it by using this guide. Once you have the motherboard separated, unsolder the USB port. You can get replacements from here as well as many other places. This will of course depend on your geographical location. Then you solder the new part to your board, and reassemble....

Chosen Solution i using the lighting cable provided charged for whole night but it does not turn on. During charging, beats x only beeping red light, what does it means? To reset your headphones Hold down these two buttons for 10 seconds:Power buttonVolume down (–) buttonWhen the LED indicator light flashes, release the buttons. No debugger configured - dumping debug information Start up from your system installation disk by inserting the disk and restarting holding down the “C” key. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities -> Disk Utility. Select your drive on the left and run repair. Run again till there are no errors....

Chosen Solution We have checked for liquid damage in keyboard and trackpad. Sensors are ok. Current os is lion. System pref settings are ok. Cursor starts behaving erratically and move here and their without touching trackpad at all. Please suggest a solution. This is a fairly new machine, Warranty?? ( no water damage) If not under warranty having already checked everything ( connections, resetting system preferences etc)…. you could replace the trackpad....

Fuse fine bulbs fine just replaced break switch …what did i miss?? Diane, there could be a pinched wire in the steering column, you may have to open up(remove trim ) around steering column and check wires. Chosen Solution This macbook doesn’t have OS installed. I can’t boot it from an external monitor. I unplugged the video connector and boot it with an HDMI adapter but it’s not working. Are you trying to boot into recovery mode in order to install an OS? Perhaps try putting it in Target disk mode (Hold down T when starting), and install OS via thunderbolt cable from another machine, and see if you can the use external display

Chosen Solution I dropped my ipod and well the graphics are messed up. As in my screen is partially white/grey , I can barely see my background. What could cause that? An Could I fix it by swapping out the logic board?? Or do I need to do something else? I really don’t think you need to go that far. You could probably just get a replacement screen assembly, and fix it....

Chosen Solution Can I put in quad core CPU and 32Gb RAM? Is it same as 4K model or not really? While I can’t say with certainty I think Apple uses a soldered CPU on this logic board. In any case, this logic board is based on the older design which uses an older PCH. So between the two its not likely you can swap out the CPU or add more RAM beyond 16 GB....

Chosen Solution The model number is worn off the back of my ipod touch and the model number listed under “about” in my settings menu is not listed as an option under “ID my ipod” on this site. The info it does give me is that it is version 3.1.3 (7E18) and the model number it lists is MC086LL. Also has a serial number of 8K006CBS75J. Any suggestions? I bought it used so I really have no idea other that it is an 8GB....
