Chosen Solution I have recently bought a defective 3DS XL from eBay. Someone had stood on it and the top and bottom screens were separate (all ribbons had been torn too). I have replaced the top screen, speaker/3D slider ribbon assembly, hinge, outer shell, just about everything except the bottom screen and motherboard. I have reassembled the console and the screens turn on, they pop and and go off. I know there have been reported issues with this, however when I try turning the console on with everything connected just without the shell, the screen backlights come on, as does the blue power light, and does nothing more - doesn’t turn off, but doesn’t turn on either....

Too late to add + and too late to get credit card to cover damage. What will it take to replace cases? I know-lots of $, but where, when and how can I find, purchase and replace these damaged parts? Chosen Solution I was wondering if it is okey to just remove the shields permanently, I could’t find anyone saying you always need to have them or not so I’m asking before I remove them. The shield is for cooling the big chips, isolate EMI noises. Without installing the shield, the board still turns on but you may experience reduced stability and RF performance. Chosen Solution best solvent to remove old glue when repairing ipad? The best is a product called D-Limonene. You can get it on ebay for a couple of bucks. Its basically the active ingredient in GooGone. It will completely remove any adhesive, glue or goo. If you want an instant solution, Goo Gone works well. Just follow it up with some IPA to remove the residue.

Chosen Solution hi so i brought a iPhone 5c which was icloud unlocked and sold for parts. so i replaced the battery and lightning connector as it wasn’t connecting to iTunes or charging. now it charges and connects to itunes but does not have anything on screen and makes a charging sound every 5 seconds constantly. can anyone help? thanks Update:i contacted seller and he said that before it stopped working that the screen flickered then it stopped woking....
