Chosen Solution Hey there, I got a problem with my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 recognizing its battery. At some point while using it it suddenly shuts down and won’t start again unless I plug in the power adapter. In this case system stats show that the battery is not being recognized. My first attempt of solving this problem was to pop the bottom cover off, disconnect and reconnect the battery cable from the logic board - pop the cover back on and suddenly it starts working again as if nothing happened....

Chosen Solution Hello again, I took had someone fix the terminal but something on the logic board came off and I’m hoping it can easily be solved by soldering it. I took a picture provided by ifixit and circled the part that came off. it’s the one that’s centered. Chosen Solution How do I replace the black ink cartridge plastic cover that has broken? If you really want to fix this, you usually need to find a donor. Printers do not make sense to repair in many scenarios, so parts tend to be scarce or expensive if not both. What you usually end up finding out in the attempt to repair printers inadvertently is even the donors tend to cost as much as a new model with ink that’s reasonable and doesn’t run out every 5 minutes, or at least a used commercial SMB laser can be had for similar money as the part and you’ll be way happier with it....

Chosen Solution The screw hole in the boiler has stripped out. is there a replacement for the brass fitting in the middle of it? I saw how you removed it with the flat washer and a pair of pliers. Chosen Solution I recently replaced the battery in my mid-2012 11in MacBook Air. It does not appear to be holding a charge. For instance, the charging cable’s green LED will indicate a full charge, but when I remove the cable, the battery percentage immediately drops to 95%-96%. The battery is also draining at about 1% every 2-3 minutes. I calibrated the battery correctly - or so I think - after I replaced it....

When I came back, luckily my phone didn’t suffer too much damage other than my front and back cameras not working. Chosen Solution I have a 5th gen 30g that has no sound. Can I put the 30g hd into a 6th gen 80g that has a bad hd? Bobby, I am sure it wont work, the logic board is different, some of the connectors, especially the display connector is offset compared to the 5th gen. The other issue you might run into is the audio issue. You may have a bad audio IC on your board, which is not uncommon....

Chosen Solution Hi, Just taken out a seagate 1TG Hard drive and wondered if I could use it as a external drive, if so what do I need ? Yes you can use an 3.5" to USB or Thunderbolt enclosure or dock. Some come with screwdrivers, some you need a screwdriver, and some don’t need any tools at all to put it in. Here and here are 2 suggestions.

Chosen Solution I found a mysterious antenna box behind my parents’ TV. Completely unmarked except for a logo consisting of three overlapping rounded squares. A Google image search for that logo turned up no matches. The box consists of a circuit board with daughter card and two roughly 8" long antennae. Googling the serial numbers on the circuit boards returned no useful results either. There’s also a number 444-1704 on the inside of the case, which also returned no useful results....

As it is an SMD (surface mounted device ) type of component, you’ll need SMD tools and expertise to carry out the repair....

Chosen Solution CD tray doesn’t open completely and it’s not old (3 yrs) and I bought it new with the computer. regards, dave Quite commonly the tray will only open a fraction of an inch. Is this the case or does it really open half way? If it opens half way you may be able to pull it the rest of the way. You might find it opens properly if the drive is upside down or on its side....

Help please marinemom, If your charge port has been dislodged and pushed into the machine/game, you will have to disassemble machine enough to get to charge port, reseat it where it belongs. If lock tabs are not holding it securely any more, you will have to glue it in carefully with 2 part epoxy ( do not let any epoxy get inside charge port), Good luck....

Chosen Solution Hi all. I just got a weird iphone. The iphone wouldn’t charge anymore, it was stuck on the charging screen. So I replaced the battery, but now with the new battery I am stuck in a boot loop ( 3 sec on, 3 sec off). (And the problem with the old battery stayed the same.) This is what I tried: Hard reset DFU mode New battery No front camera attached No charging dock attached No screen Those things combined Now I got a little bit further, while in DFU mode itunes finds my iphone (only then) and I could press on “update”....

Chosen Solution i have a black screen with disk0s2 input/output error “disk0s2” is your filesystem ID. Sounds like a corrupted system. Try starting up from your original system installation disk by inserting the disk and restarting holding down the “C” key. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your hard drive in the left hand column. Run repair Disk till it runs clear then run repair permissions....
