Chosen Solution Hi there, I suspect I know the answer, but I’d really appreciate “a second set of eyes” on my problem. 15” Macbook Pro 2.4, Late 2008 (Unibody)…does not start. • using the correct 85w power supply, tested working • battery is only 6 months old • tried resetting the SMC several times • tried starting with and without the battery. • tried the “rm batt while magsafe connected, rm magsafe,hold start 15s+, plug magsafe, plug battery” method • tried with and without ram • tried starting using the power pads on the logic board • with the battery connected, the charger shows an orange (charging) light • with the battery disconnected the charger shows a green (power) light But otherwise, no response whatsoever....

Even if i try to use the function key , it is not possible to access to the bios. Hi! If you whish to get rid of that BIOS password you will need to do a CMOS reset. Chosen Solution While using my mac I noticed green light on charger was not lite and sure enough battery has now run out and I cannot power on computer I have tested charger on different computer and tried other charger on my computer and charger seems fine I had read differ posts and thought it may have been the io board so I have installed a new board which I found quite easy thanks to the very detailed description from this site but charging or light has not been fixed I had previously spilt a small amount of water on keyboard but turn it upside very quickly but computer did not fire up at first but I dried out in sun and placed in a bag of rice and eventually computer came good and has been working great for at least a year I have noticed some small green corrosion marks near some connection on board Around the battery connection section of board which I have cleaned up with a fine brush after disconnecting battery Any info would be greatly appreciated as I enjoy trying to fix things but end to get my computer going again Thanks in advance Brad...

Is a complete isopropyl alcohol bath an option? @fxt if you are wondering if it will work to submerge the whole Surface Pro into an alcohol bath, then the answer is no. You will have residue on the motherboard once the alcohol evaporates....

On some laptops, there is a Fn Key + Bluetooth key (Look on the F1 - F12, any bluetooth logo) You need to invoke it to activate the hardware or if there is a slide switch?

Chosen Solution I recently bought an iPhone 6. The phone works good overall but has one issue. Both of the cameras are out. I have replaced both cameras twice and still no result. The flash is also out too. I replaced that flex cable with no result. I am convinced this is some sort of board issue. But I cannot determine it. Chosen Solution Completed the guided battery replacement, the mag light shows orange as if charging, but the MacBook only turns on if plugged into ac charger and charge status shows no battery. I did notice evidence of corrosion on old battery control board (white powdery substance) and I reopened the case to make sure the new battery was securely plugged in. Not sure what to do now… Photo is of old battery control board...

Chosen Solution broke the corner of the clip that roates 90 degrees to hold the LCD screen doing a click wheel replacement. now the screen is white. music plays when i hook it up to car. would the broken clip cause the white screen? do i need to replace the logic board or is there a way to fix just that part? thanks @glennzes yes it would since it is the clip that exerts downward pressure and closed the contacts from the connector to the cable....

Chosen Solution So, I dropped my iPad on its back onto a concrete/tile floor a few days ago from ~hip height with a rubber case installed. Since then a third of the screen has become unresponsive and the rest of the screen has been playing up (random actions when not touching screen e.g. keyboard typing, swipe up exiting apps, stuff like that). None of the buttons or cameras of any other physical components has been damaged and this is the 3rd screen it’s had (from previous mistakes)....
