Chosen Solution This cable connects LCD panel to logic board. A damaged display data (LVDS) cable will cause the display not to show image. Bad Idea. I bought an aftermarket screen that did not have the full assembly. After taking the MacBook to a nonmac installer the LVDS cable that connects to the lcd itself is now damaged. The prongs are warped. I have spent too much money revamping this MacBook and will not buy the full assembly....

Chosen Solution Hi all, Display flickered and went dark while using it. Backlight is working, and external screen is working through another mac connected by thunderbolt; everything else also working fine via external mac. Have reset NVRAM and SMC to no avail. Also tried reconnecting LCD cable (but only on logic board side - haven’t tried doing screen side yet) - this made a small difference as display worked on startup for about 10 seconds, before flickering and going dark again....

Chosen Solution I have to replace the 3TB seagate drive on my iMac 27” 2014 retina. I have Mojave installed on the separate 128GB blade ssd. Is there a hard drive that will work on the iMac without the fans going crazy? I heard the drive needs to have apple firmware. Just want to pop a cheap spinning drive inside for storage. I don’t wanna spend the dough on the thermal sensor....

Chosen Solution Have a nice MacbookPro9,2 i7 that I bought new - never been dropped, damaged, exposed to liquid, etc. Recently changed out the existing internal HD for an SSD. I’m very careful in disassembly/assembly - use an ESD mat and strap, etc. Upon reassembly the machine will only run when connected to a power supply- remove the supply and it shuts off instantly. Passes all AHT diagnostics. CoconutBattery recognises the battery, lists the status as Good, failure as None, Cycle count as 921 (close to EOL but was charging fine before)....

Chosen Solution I recently replaced the ram in my Acer Aspire V5-552p-x404 laptop, and in doing so had to unplug the battery for safety. When plugging it back in, I believe the pins got bent, but can’t figure out a good way to either bend them back or remove them if they aren’t needed. I’ve looked online, but haven’t found a guide on which pins are needed for the battery to function properly within the laptop....

Chosen Solution Hello everyone, this is about the same PowerMac G4 MDD I asked about before here .. 867 DP . I did some diagnosing today. This is what I found. Power On : Chime sounds, fans go, harddrive on the ATA100 won’t spin up when on all other ATA channels it does spin up. Screen remains black. Graphics card is working, tested in other Powermac. No keyboard recognition (caps lock led does noch light up)....

Chosen Solution Please excuse the venting that follows, I just need to get this out…!! As I was tearing down the machine to get the DC-in board out, I obviously had to remove the connectors on the logic board for the speakers, mic, trackpad, etc. As stated in the guide, they are extremely delicate, so as I got to the LAST ONE, prying as gently as I possibly could, one wire broke out of the black plastic piece that connects to the board, and then as I tried to save the other one, it broke too....

Chosen Solution I’ve managed to break the latch flap and now I can’t use the keyboard anymore. I tried to place a thin plastic underneath to hold the ribbon in place, but no luck. It looks like I have to replace that connector. Does anyone know the part number for that and where to buy it from? If there is other option, please advise.. Chosen Solution i change the display and when i try the phone the camera doesn´t work so i open it again and try to fixit it. by trying, now the phone doesn’t start and the display does´t work 1) Plug it into your computer and open iTunes. Leave it a couple of minutes and come back. If the phone is showing up in iTunes, good. That means it’s still alive. Unplug the battery to turn it off and then reseat the screen connectors....

Chosen Solution Can one replace the 4771 with a 4790 (non-K) in a late 2013 27" iMac? We’re upgrading from an i5 and the 4790 is a more popular processor and therefore cheaper than the 4771 (and more powerful). They both have the same wattage and I’ve read that as long as that and the physical socket is the same that it should work as Apple doesn’t actually have firmware restrictions on processors....

Chosen Solution I just bought a battery. The seller claims that the battery capacity is 3300mAh. I just installed the battery, but the iPhone tells me that the battery capacity is just 2900mAh. The brand of the battery is MYPRO. The apps that I had used to check the capacity of the battery is CPU Dasher Mobile Master and CPU-x Dasher z Battery life. Can the iPhone really read the battery capacity?...

Chosen Solution My Patagonia Rubicon Rider Jacket has lost it’s water repellency. Not sure if this is a warranty issue, or if I can do something to improve it? There is absolutely something you can do! Use a DWR treatment like Granger’s to re-waterproof your jacket. We have guides coming on this process soon… My local laundry did mine for me.

Chosen Solution The fan on the right side of the laptop buzzes when it gets too hot. Are the fans on the xps 13 replaceable. You can see it in step #5 of the teardown. Looks like it takes two screws to remove: Dell XPS 13 Teardown yes you can replace the FAN - take apart remove 2 screws - unplug for pc board. insert new replacement fan and reverse the take apart....

Chosen Solution Can I use my own coffee grounds in the Keurig K-Cup B60 model? Yes, there is a reusable cup available that allows you to insert and brew with your own coffee grounds. A pack of the reusable cups can be bought online for about $10. Using the reusable cups work well but can be messy.

Chosen Solution Is it possible to use a multimeter to determine if the USB-C port is dead before taking the laptop apart? If you open it up, how can you test to see if its the defective part before replacing it?
