So, I have a lenovo Ideapad 730s/Yoga S730-13IML. And when in HWiNFO64, I find that all the battery values are at 1.273 volts. Looking on ebay at replacement batteries they’re all (Of the one i found lol) 15.36 volts. Also, it loses power completely when its unplugged and the bios doesn’t save anything i do (E.G changing the “Charge in sleep” mode). When plugged in, the machine auto starts for about a minute then displays a “Real time clock error - Check date and time settings” with a beep followed by it booting into windows 10. This laptop is just under 3 years old and has no warranty. I’d love to get this working so i can keep it out of the e-waste pile. Hopefully you guys can give me a hand in what to look for and subsequently do. Thanks, Nick
Hi @np_f1_2021 , Have you checked that the charger is supplying the correct voltage etc.? It may be that it can run the laptop but not charge the battery at the same time. What happens if you just charge the battery without turning the laptop on? Does it show that it is charging and then finally fully charges? If so does it still fail to run on the battery only? You can also create a battery report to check the status of the battery etc. Compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge capacity value and also to check if it is even connected. To find compatible batteries for the laptop, here’s the parts list for the laptop. Click on Select Commodities > Rechargeable batteries and internal (4) to find the part numbers for all the compatible batteries. Search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best. Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.31 to view the necessary pre-requisite step and then the procedure to remove/replace the battery pack. Not sure with this laptop but there is no RTC battery (aka CMOS battery) on the systemboard so I was wondering if the BIOS settings were maintained either by the main battery or perhaps a capacitor on the board. As for the differences between an -13IML model and an -13IWL model, as far as the battery goes there is none as they use the same batteries (see the IWL parts list. As for the rest I didn’t check ;-)
