My Mid-2010 27 iMac shares the same emc number as 4 different iMacs. iMac “Core i3” 3.2 27-Inch (Mid-2010) Radeon HD 5670 iMac “Core i5” 2.8 27-Inch (Mid-2010) Radeon HD 5750 iMac “Core i5” 3.6 27-Inch (Mid-2010) Radeon HD 5670 iMac “Core i7” 2.93 27-Inch (Mid-2010) Radeon HD 5750 I have the 2.8 and it’s equipped with the 5760. I have a spare 5670 inside another iMac and I was wondering if it would work before I rip these two machines apart.

Most people try to improve there graphics, rarely do I see anyone lowering their graphics ;-} Yes, you could do it. But why? Is your card failing? If your card has failed it maybe because you’ve been pushing it overly hard (gaming or other heavy graphics). One of the problems with the older series like this is it was not imagined how apps & games would develop is such a short time. Today the graphics we expect for many of these older system is just too intense for them. If you are planning on just doing word processing and other similar work then go for it! If you are a heavy graphics person it maybe time to upgrade to a more powerful system (CPU & GPU).
