Chosen Solution

Hello, I did a lot of Googling but I could not find a concrete answer to this, whether it’s a yes or a no, or even a maybe. I have an iMac 2011 27 inch with a bad LCD (the backlight is failing intermittently). I also have a 2009 27 inch iMac, would I be able to use the LCD from the 2009? Any relevant information is appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, the answer is no, the display assembles are different. Reference: 2009 27” iMac LCD Display assembly, Apple P/N 661-5527, LG display # LM270WQ1(SD)(A2)

2011 27” iMac LCD Display assembly, Apple P/N 661-6615, LG display # LM270WQ1 (SD)(E3)

While the base LCD panel panel is the same the thermal sensor and T-CON board are different on the back. The 2011 panel also has a better backlight as the burnt plastic design in the 2009 would cast a yellow tint.
