I have a 13" MacBook Pro Early 2011 with a non-functioning keyboard. It was bought in Europe and has a French/EU layout keyboard. If I replace the upper case and keyboard with a US layout, will it still work? i.e. Is the keyboard layout tied to the device hardware, or is it something I can change in the software after replacing and have it work properly?
