Hi! I have the 2012 15" non-retina Macbook Pro. It still works just fine but the upper case has got some pretty bad dents over time. I have an old Macbook pro 15" non-retina (some 2011 model) with a broken logic board which I’ve used for spare parts. Is the upper case from my mid-2012 model replaceable with the one from the 2011 model?

You should be OK here. If we look at the part on the IFIXIT store: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Early 2011 through Mid 2012) Upper Case we see both early & mid 2011 models used the same case as the mid 2012 model.
