My 92 Honda Accord has been sitting for a few months, go to start it and it turns over, but doesn’t start up. Also, there was oil on the spark plugs, cleaned them up and the car started. A day later, I go to start it again and it doesn’t start up. Over the past few days, sometimes it will start up and other times it won’t. Battery is fine and exhaust smoke is fine as well. It does have gas in the tank. I think it’s either gas filter needs to be cleaned/changed or the oil on the spark plugs is causing the issue. I am not much of a car guy and I don’t know how to diagnose any problems further.

@stuart_as When you pulled the spark plugs was there oil in the spark plug holes before pulling the plug ?If so the valve cover seals are gone and the plugs are being drenched in oil . to remedy the problem you need to replace the o-rings in the valve cover spark plug passages. when drying up the plug its a good idea to put dielectric gel in the spark plug boot as this will help seal out the moisture. but oil filled plug shoots will keep the car from running . Hope this helps
